I started making some small amount of money online and was wondering how it works, the minimum amount necessary to claim and it this is done quarterly or on next year’s income tax return?

Anytime you have self employmnent of over $400 you are required to report it on your tax return. Of course you can claim any and all expenses in relation to this income.
